I had a good experience at Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel, with its fabulous location right by the river and an extensive breakfast buffet filled with local delights. However, I did encounter some challenges with the room layout, including an awkward staircase that made access to the bathroom tricky. The staff was welcoming, though breakfast service was somewhat chaotic. Overall, I would recommend the hotel, especially for those who book river-view rooms. 😃🌊

My stay at the Pestana Vintage Porto was a mixed bag. The central location by the river was fantastic, offering stunning views and easy access to attractions. However, there were several issues that affected my experience, like the confusing power sockets in my room and some uninspired service from the restaurant staff. Overall, while I loved the setting, the lack of attention to some details left me wanting more.
Rooms

My room had a amazing view of the Douro River, but it came with steep steps to the bathroom and a broken power socket next to the coffee machine. Cleanliness was great, though I would have preferred easier access to amenities without carrying my kettle around.
Service
6.0
The friendliness of the staff stood out, especially during breakfast, where they were attentive and helpful. However, my dining experience at RIB restaurant was marred by poor table placement and an unhelpful manager who was dismissive when I raised my concerns.
Location
9.0
The location could not have been better, right along the river with easy access to local sites, cafes, and wine tastings. I loved being in the heart of Porto's vibrant atmosphere. This made my exploration stress-free and enjoyable.
Dining

While the breakfast was extensive and delicious (a real treat!), my experience at the RIB restaurant left much to be desired due to service issues. I was especially disappointed that my dining preferences were not accommodated when it became dark at our table.
Facilities

The hotel had good facilities, including a well-equipped café and laundry services, but I wished for clearer information on room features like the power sockets.

My stay at Pestana Vintage Porto was truly nice, thanks to the amazing river views and the fantastic location near all the main attractions. However, a few small issues in the service and breakfast experience brought my overall rating down. While the room was comfortable and stylish, I noticed some outdated elements that could detract from the luxury experience. Overall, it’s a charming hotel in a prime spot, perfect for exploring Porto.
Rooms

I stayed in a double room with a balcony overlooking the river, and it was a highlight of my trip. The thoughtful design made for a comfortable experience, though I noticed that the bathroom could use an upgrade to match the rest of the room’s modern appeal.
Service
7.0
While the staff was generally friendly and accommodating, I experienced a few hiccups with service during breakfast, as items ran out and I had to wait for replacements. However, other staff members were prompt and attentive when I raised concerns.
Location

The location is unbeatable, right on the Douro riverside in the lively Ribeira. I loved being able to walk to nearby attractions, and the stunning views of the Luis bridge made it all the more good.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast offered a wide variety, including local dishes and even champagne, which I appreciated. However, I did find some items could be replenished more quickly, as there were moments when I had to wait for the buffet to be restocked.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent, but the fitness area felt a bit limited, and the spa was not quite at the level expected from a five-star hotel. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the cozy public spaces where I could relax after a day of sightseeing.

Staying at the Pestana Vintage Porto was a mix of wonderful experiences and a few hiccups. On the positive side, the hotel has a fantastic location by the River Douro and offers stunning views from the rooms, especially the suites. However, I faced some service inconsistencies at breakfast and had to chase for a few items during my stay, which put a slight damper on things.

I stayed in a suite with amazing views of the Douro River. The bed was lovely, making for restful nights. However, some of the room features were not well lit, making them a bit tricky to use.
Service

While most of the staff were helpful and welcoming, I did experience some variability in service quality. For instance, there was a lack of responsiveness at times, especially regarding breakfast items running out and delayed requests.

The hotel's central location was unbeatable. I had easy walking access to key attractions and the vibrant atmosphere around the river added to the overall charm of my stay.
Dining

The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring fresh local produce. While I enjoyed many options, the quality of the coffee and the temperature of some dishes could be improved, as I found the Eggs Benedict barely warm on occasion.
Facilities

The hotel offered various facilities like room service and laundry, but there were issues with housekeeping items being replaced inconsistently, which I found a bit frustrating.

My stay at Pestana Vintage Porto was overall very enjoyable, with a fantastic riverside location and stunning views. I particularly loved the breakfast buffet, which had a wide range of delicious local options. However, I did find that the room could have used better soundproofing, as noise from the street made for some restless nights.

I stayed in a riverfront room that was quite beautiful and spacious, though I did wish it had better soundproofing to block out street noise at night.
